Luke 24:1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling clothing; 5 and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead? 6 He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, 7 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”
Tomorrow we celebrate the risen Lord! Tomorrow we come together as a body of believers to proclaim the joy our hearts cannot contain when we think of Jesus. Tomorrow we say with unending awe “He is risen! He is risen indeed!”
For pastors, tomorrow is our favorite Sunday of the year. But don’t let tomorrow be the only day you celebrate. Don’t let this verse be one that you only read once a year.
No matter what circumstances you find yourself in, no matter what trails you are facing, no matter how much Satan is trying to convince you that you are unworthy of the resurrection, Jesus Christ died specifically for you not because you deserved it but because He loves you. He wants to know you. He wants to redeem you. More than that, He wants to adopt you. You are a child of the King.
