One of the more popular hymns to sing during Lent is “Jesus Paid It All.” The opening verse says, I can hear the Savior say Thy strength indeed is small Child of weakness, watch and pray Find in me thine all in all It is hard to maintain discipline, to stay strong, to follow the course, to continue on the straight and narrow. It takes a divine strength to attain that kind of discipline in life. Child of weakness, watch and pray, and find in Christ what you need to continue to fight the good fight. We are now sixteen days into Lent. You began on Ash Wednesday by consecrating yourself fully to Him. How is it going? Is it time to fall to your knees before Him and once again call on Him for strength to face the battles before you? Trust in Him wholly and completely to walk with you and to empower you to live the life He has called you to live. Isaiah 40:29 promises that “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Call on Him now to do just that and then trust Him completely to see you through.
