What is it about the changing of winter to spring that brings new growth? Is it the onslaught of steady rain? Is it the thawing of the ground as the Northern Hemisphere finally tilts toward the warming sun? Is it simply the time for the seed to leave its comfortable womb of dormancy that it might sprout forth from the ground? It is all these things. It is the working together of many elements that draws forth fields of wildflowers and the sweet scent of fresh earth. It is the same for the growing Christian.

There is no one thing that will bring you from a baby’s toddle to a grown athlete’s run in the race of life. It is the steady study of God’s Word, the tilt of the eyes toward Heaven in prayer, and leaving the comfort of your own home to work out your salvation in the real world. John 15:9-11 states, “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” Study, pray, fellowship, meditate, sacrifice, give, and love, and you will grow.
